Greece helped the Allies win World War I and II, yet their promise to return Northern Epirus to Greece has never been fulfilled.

This documentary features the Northern Epirotic struggle for freedom for their 400,000 compatriots trapped in what has been called Albania. Since 1920 they have been fighting to restore their civil liberties and to return Northern Epirus to Greece. The mother of Alexander the Great was from ancient Epirus, Greece.

In-depth interviews with Greek-Americans filmed at Greek Independence Day Parades in New York City, Chicago, Boston and Tarpon Springs, Florida, the OXI Day Parade in Toronto, Canada, and the Demonstration for Macedonia in front of the United Nations.

A 62 minute, unedited video interview with the International Workers of the World, I.W.W., labor union innovator and organizer, Angelo Rocco, conducted in 1977 when he was 93 years old.

In this historic 1977 interview Mr. Rocco, an Italian immigrant, recalls the conditions leading up to the Lawrence, Massachusetts cotton mill strike of 1912 which received international attention and support. We now recognize the 100th anniversary of this historic event. The strike changed the face of both the labor and feminist movements (most of the 25,000 strikers were immigrant women). It was the first major labor action in U.S. history and for the first time there was a conscious effort to unite workers of all nationalities. The time of the strike is often referred to as "Bread and Roses."

Not so much a documentary as it is a collection of archival interviews and the documenting of related public events. Stories of the Muslim Ottoman Turks committing the first case of modern day genocide and ethnic cleansing of up to 1,500,000 Armenian Orthodox Christians by forced death marches and burnings. Also, between 1915 and 1922 over 350,000 Greek Orthodox Christians of the Pontos and up to 1,000,000 Greek Orthodox Christians of Micra Asia were exterminated by forced death marches and burnings. ﾒHolocaustﾓ comes from the Greek "olokaftoma," meaning total consumption by fire.

We hope that the survivors who share their memories and stories of unspeakable pain will help the world remember this grotesque crime. We honor the 100th year anniversary of the horror of this often forgotten holocaust and offer this film as a memorial to the Armenian and Greek victims of Christian genocide.

The Hellenic War for Independence began on March 25, 1821 and it took another 91 years to liberate Epirus and Macedonia from the Turks in the Balkan Wars after more than 400 years of slavery. The struggle went on for the Greeks in World War I. Interviews from surviviors give us an understanding of this constant vigil for freedom including the genocide of the Greek people of Asia Minor where up to two million Greeks were killed between 1915-1922. And most importantly, Greece's critical role in World War II which led to the allied victory. Greece lost four times more people than the United States, including the battle against the communist who invaded Greece after the war. All these heroes fought for freedom and are honored in this video.
